BUDDY WHEATLEY’S BATTLE OF THE BANDS ON SEPTEMBER 15 AT MADISON LIVE

Three local, non-professional bands will be competing for bragging rights at the outdoor, rooftop Madison Live venue, 734 Madison Ave in downtown Covington, KY on September 15.  Doors open at 7 pm, with bands showing their best musical talent beginning at 8 pm. There is no cover charge. A cash bar will be available.  The event is designed to be family-friendly.

The three bands are: Sodium Chloride(NaCL) a group of talented young people from Villa Madonna Academy playing 8-8:25pm.  Mr. The Kid offers an eclectic mix that “puts constraints on gravity” and will be on stage 8:45 – 9:10 pm. Brink of Serious creates an original fusion of genres and will perform 9:30 – 9:55 pm

Welcome and transitional music by Highlands High School student (also Buddy’s niece) Haley Barth.

Each person attending the free event will receive one ticket to vote on their favorite band of the evening. Voting will take place at 10 pm.

The event is presented by the Buddy Wheatley for State Representative reelection committee. Buddy Wheatley (D) 65th District representing Covington, Park Hills, Edgewood and Crestview Hills, will be on hand to visit with those who attend the event.  Wheatley has served his KY constituents since 2019 and is running for re-election to that post.  Buddy is a retired Covington Fire Chief now serving as legal representative to his fellow Kentuckians.

According to Wheatley, “While we hope to raise some funds for my re-election campaign, this event is about showcasing the up and coming young musical talent in the area.”
